Business Interests in Focus at KCDC Annual Banquet

Blair Milo, a member of Governor Holcomb’s Workforce Cabinet, was the keynote speaker at yesterday’s Knox County Development Corporation’s annual banquet. Milo replaced expected speaker Danny Lopez; he was unable to attend yesterday’s event in Vincennes. The annual conference was held at the Green Activities Center at Vincennes University.
Milo spoke about filling a large number of job openings coming soon. She says finding qualified workers to fill the jobs is the top priority of the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet…

In his State of Economic Development speech, K-C-D-C director Kent Utt praised unprecendented cooperation. The togetherness comes from Knox County goverment, the County’s municipalities, and the K-C-D-C. Utt also promoted several business successes– including a major expansion just announced at Sunrise Coal’s mines in Oaktown. Finally, Utt determined that retention and expansion of existing business will be a major focus in the near future.
