Groundbreaking on Hedde Health Education Center Complete

Groundbreaking has now happened for the Charles Hedde Health Education Center at Good Samaritan Hospital. The Center will be used as a training ground for a new Hospital residency program. Intensive work to build the two and a half million dollar structure will begin soon.
The first class of four psychiatric residents has started their course through the Hospital. Next year, the program will welcome in a group of internal medicine residents for their course of study. A new group of residents in both programs will be added each year, with the total expected to hit 40 by 2022. Studies show many of those who do residency work in a certain community are more likely to set up their practice in that community when they finish.
