Another round of flooding is likely for area rivers. Rain over the weekend is not forecast to be heavy here—but is expected to be in northern and central Indiana. National Weather Service forecaster Chad Swain expects falling rivers to rise again.
Two to three inches of weekend rain could fall in the Wabash watershed areas near Lafayette, with one to two inches possible in Indianapolis. At this time, though, flood gauges have not shown how far or fast the river could be affected by the rain. More information on possible flood levels is likely over the weekend, or early next week, after the expected rain would hit the area.
