Illinois State Police say an Olney man wanted for murder was arrested Wednesday by the U.S. Marshal’s Service in Florida.
18-year-old Rick Meador was wanted for the shooting death of 19-year-old Kyle Johnson of Olney on September 6th.
Johnson was shot at the intersection of North Walnut and East Laurel Street in Olney.
He later died at an area hospital.
Taken into custody with Meador was a 16-year-old Olney girl who was listed as missing and endangered in connection with the murder investigation.
She was turned over to Florida Child Services.
Meador and the girl were taken into custody at the Bass Haven Campground in DeFuniak, Florida.
Meador is being held in the Walton County, Florida Jail awaiting extradition to Richland County, Illinois.
