White River DNR Mainstem Project Continues

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will continue with crews working on the entire length of the main White River, and the West Fork of the White, in the weeks to come. The groups will work together to sample the river from eastern Indiana to its joining with the Wabash River near Mount Carmel.
The sampling will include water quality, fish communities, and water insects at 63 sites. Other surveys include fishing opportunities to catch both bass and catfish, and ways to improve the river’s health.
In this area, the survey will affect locations along the White River– lincluding Elnora, Edwardsport, Petersburg, Hazleton, and Mount Carmel.
