The Knox County Library Board has set a special session for Thursday, August 12th to open bids for a roof for the Annex Building. The noontime session is open to the public. The Library has put together specifics for the bidding, and is sending out a request for proposal to various eligible bidders.
In other business, the Board approved submission of a Covid-based relief grant. Library director Emily Bunyan told the Board the competitive grant could be worth anywhere from five-thousand to 100-thosuand dollars. Library officials will interview for the competitive grant next month.
Finally, Bunyan told the Board about an August interview for a second grant. The interview is with the Knox County Community Foundation for a Targeting Lasting Change grant. The Library is seeking funds for its “Learning Kitchen’ program; the effort is designed to teach healthy cooking procedures to the community.
