Good Samaritan Hospital has received the gold seal for stroke care from the accrediting group the Joint Commission. The Commission gave the award following a thorough review on August 30th.
The G-S-H Stroke Center showed compliance with the Commission standards in several areas. They include working with deep vein thrombosis, setting various medical therapies as needed, using smoking cessation plans, doing stroke assessment, and continuing stroke education.
The study was supposed to be completed in 2020, but was put off a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The year’s delay allowed the Hospital to update and improve its stroke services for the area.
