All area counties are in orange Covid status this week, in statistics shared by the Indiana State Department of Health. Orange is the second highest Covid level on the state’s charts.
In those statistics, Knox County far and away has the state’s highest Covid level per 100-thousand residents. The County is listed at 12-hundred ten cases per 100-thousand residents. The next highest Indiana county is just over 600 cases per 100-thousand. A couple of triple-digit Covid days over the weekend caused the skyrocketing rate. Knox County also has the highest percentage of positive Covid tests in the area, at 15.8 percent. However, in the latest state reporting phase, the County added only four new Covid cases.
Daviess County added 12 cases, with an 8.9 percent rate. Martin County is the only area county with a clean Covid report. Statewide, Indiana’s positive Covid percentage is 9.1 percent, with 32 added deaths.
