LHS Boys Lose Close One to Pike Central; SK Girls Defeat Wood Memorial

The Lincoln Alices had a shot to win their first at the buzzer, but it did not go in and the Pike Central Chargers won their third game of the year 40-39 at Alice Arena.  LHS falls to 0-11 with the loss.

Joel Sanders led LHS with 20, while Quaid Morton had 17 to lead Pike Central.  The deciding point came on a Charger free throw with 7.2 seconds to go.  The Alices play again Friday at Evansville North, while Pike Central plays Heritage Hills.

In girls basketball:

The South Knox Lady Spartans got 25 points from Macie Cochenour as they defeated Wood Memorial 61-32.  Ella Bobe added 14.  A 23-13 second quarter surge broke open a 9-7 Lady Spartan first quarter lead, and led to victory.
