Knox County Sports Roundup for Friday, 5/13



Northeast Dubois scored seven runs in the first inning and went on to blank Vincennes Rivet 7-0.




Vincennes Lincoln lost to Castle 4-0.  Kaitlyn Heldermann, Amaya Woodall and Kate Jones all had

singles for the Lady Alices.


South Knox scored three in the third inning, and went on to defeat Northeast Dubois on the road 5-2.  All three runs were tallied by a 3-run homer by Lily Culp.  Culp also added a double to add an insurance run in the seventh.   Kenzie Johnson also had two hits in the game.  Ally Sims got the win; she moves to 10-8  on the year.  South Knox is now 11-8 overall, and undefeated in Blue Chip Conference play at 4-0.




Vincennes Lincoln trimmed Linton 3-2.  Winners for the Lady Alices were Payton Dugan at number singles and

the number one doubles team of Savanna Purdom and Abby West and the number two team of Makenzie Clark

and Macey Fisher.


South Knox blanked Vincennes Rivet 5-0.  Winning in singles play were Abby Cunningham, Madi Ziegler and Grace Arnold.

Also posting wins for the lady Spartans were Kaitlyn Williams and Caroline Beard at number one doubles and the number

two doubles team of Graceanna Cramer and Anna Provines.  South Knox is now 18-3 on the season.




South Knox finished second in a seven-team golf match at Country Oaks golf course in Montgomery.  Barr-Reeve won with a 164, followed by the Spartans with a 168.  Loogootee was third, followed by Rivet with a 171.  Washington Catholic was fifth, followed by North Knox with a 206.  North Daviess was seventh.  Cameron Chattin and Easton Peters tied for South Knox’s low score with a 40.  Luke Williams was one stroke back of them with a 41.  For Rivet…Christian Steininger was low scorer with a 40.  Parker Steininger shot a 42, Curtis Shake a 43 and Zach Bottoms a 46.
