The two-day Knox County Watermelon Fest returns to Vincennes this afternoon and evening, and all day tomorrow. The Festival is presented by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce. Chamber president Jamie Neal says this year’s new Festival focus is on agriculture.
Vendor booths will open up this afternoon at 5:00, with the Watermelon Business Challenge presentations at 5:30. Other Friday night events for August 5th include a watermelon eating contest and free music. Free watermelon will also be available through the weekend, presented by Knox County’s Mouzin Brothers Farms.
Among the Saturday events is the annual WZDM Baby and Toddler Watermelon Pageants. Those events start at 10:00 tomorrow morning and covers kids from newborns to four years old. The age-group Watermelon Queen contest will begin tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
