Sports Roundup for Thursday, 9/22

 

(Soccer)

The South Knox soccer team defeated White River Valley 3-2 last night at home to go to 13-0-1 on the season.  Jackson Thomas, Braydon Loudermilk, and Owen Lavely scored for the Spartans.  Lavely’s goal broke a 2-2 tie in the second half for the victory.

The South Knox girls’ soccer team lost 7-0- to Terre Haute North.  Jayda Millspaugh had 14 saves for the Lady Spartans.

(Cross Country)

The North Knox boys defeated White River Valley.  North Knox’s Gabe Robarge won the meet, as part of a 25 point North Knox scoreline; the Wolverines did not have a team score.  Anden West was fourth for North Knox.  In the girls’ meet, the Lady Warriors took four of the top five positions to defeat White River Valley, who did not have a team score.  Rori Bottum won the meet, with Reegan Hammelman second.  Abbi Urbain was fourth, while alexis Petelle was fifth.

The North Knox junior high cross country teams were also in action.  The boys’ team lost 16-42 to White River Valley; Linton competed but did not have a team score.  North Knox’s Michael McClure was top finisher with a fifth place.

In the girls’ junior high meet, Linton and North Knox tied with 31’s; White River Valley competed but did not have a team score.  Emma Telligman was second for North Knox, with Eva Claycomb third.

In golf, Clark Middle School and North Knox tied at 129 at Cypress Hills Golf Course.  Jayden Hatfield was low scorer with a 27; Landon Telligman had a 29 to lead Clark.

In Volleyball, the North Knox 8th grade team lost to Loogootee in 2 sets.  Brooklyn Smith led North Knox with seven points and four aces.

In sixth grade volleyball, Clark Middle School defeated North Knox in w sets to move to 6-0.  Jada Barksdale had 4 aces to lead the way.  The B team match also went to Clark in 2 sets, with Alanna Ficklin registering 5 aces.
