Just over a year remains before Vincennes is in the middle of the next solar eclipse to be seen in North America. The eclipse will happen on April 9th of next year, with Vincennes square in the path of totality. Knox County Emergency Management Agency director John Streeter is glad they have an example to study to ensure they are ready.
The April 9th date for 2024 is on a Monday. Streeter knows with that being the case, a lot of activities will happen in Vincennes leading up to the eclipse itself that Monday afternoon. The actual total eclipse will be seen in Vincennes at 3:02 p.m. that day. The sun will be totally eclipsed for just over four minutes that afternoon in Vincennes.
