A new plant construction in the U-S 41 Industrial Park in Knox County plans to turn harvest waste into reliable items. The company AgroRenew plans a multi-million dollar facility to recycle rejected melon items into bio-plastics.
‘ The idea started at the Pantheon Business Theatre in downtown Vincennes around six months ago. Pantheon director Nichole Like says the idea is to turn a farmer’s harvest trash into treasure. The first phase, and the start of production, is planned to start in about a year. The proposed plant would be built in four stages, along with an adjacent bio-plastics research facility.
