The Indiana Legislature is halfway done with its short legislative session for this year. Among the issues being debated at the Statehouse is a call for an audit of the Family and Social Services Administration. That audit came after a nearly one billion dollar shortfall was found in the Department.
The call was made by Lieutenant Governor– and State Governor’s candidate– Suzanne Crouch. However, State Senate president pro tem Rod Bray believes the problem is from an accounting-based error.
The other main topic is awarding a 13the check to the state’s retirees for this year. It was passed earlier this year by the Indiana House; the State Senate will now consider the bill.
