You are paying more for hospital care.
At least that’s what the numbers say.
Indiana has the 8th highest costs for care at hospitals, according to a recent RAND survey.
The non-partisan think tank says hospital consolidation among other things is the reason why.
Brian Briscombe with RAND tells Indianapolis’ WISH-TV it’s also a reason why wage growth in Indiana has been slow.
The Indiana Hospital Association claims the numbers from RAND are skewed, claiming the survey does not consider how much hospitals subsidize insurance companies.
