Area Illinois State Representative Adam Niemberg has had his meat processor regulation bill approved in the Illinois Senate. The bill would bring Type One meant processing plants in line with other Illinois meat packers.
Niemberg believes the new regulations will streamline the process and save companies money.
The new regulation would also square the Illinois meat processing statute with similar federal laws.
