Knox County Sports for Tuesday

It was a tough day for three Knox County Baseball teams in sectional play.
At the Jasper 3-A Sectional, the host Wildcats scored four runs in the sixth inning to rally
Past Vincennes Lincoln 5-2.  Raden Benson took the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits and
Striking out eleven.  Cayden McCrary led the Alices with two hits while Cooper Collins added
A hit and an RBI.  Lincoln finishes up the season at 20-8.
At the Sullivan 2-A Sectional, Linton trimmed South Knox 2-1.  All the runs scored were in the first inning.
The Spartans had the tying run on second in the 7th inning but failed to bring him home.  South Knox was
limited to just five hits.  Kole Vash scored the only Spartans run of the game.  South Knox closes out the
Season at 15-11.
At the Loogootee Class A Sectional….Number two ranked Barr-Reeve blanked Vincennes Rivet 10-0 in five innings.
Barr-Reeve pitcher Mathew Lashley limited the Patriots to just one hit, that was a first inning single by Brody Shots.
Rivet finishes the Spring at 6-14.
Girls softball Regionals are set for tonight..
In Class 3-A…Heritage Hills visits Gibson Southern
In Class 2-A…North Posey entertains Sullivan
In Class A…Barr-Reeve travels to Tecumseh.  Clay City visits Bethesda Christian
And in Class 4-A…Castle hosts Floyd Central
On the local sports scene for today…The Lincoln golf team will take part in the SIAC match at 11:30 at
Sultans Run in Jasper.
