The Knox County Commissioners have approved ten members for a committee to review the County’s health insurance policy and process. The goal is the find the most affordable and cost-effective insurance plan for County workers.
The committee will be headed up by Knox County Attorney Drew Porter, and Commissioner Tim Ellerman the Second. Other members include Cheyenne Grogan, Shane McGregor, Michael Kohlhouse, Cameron Carr, James Reese, Beth Worland, and two appointments from the Knox County Council. Council members will select their two committee delegates at a later date.
Many of the nominees were approved unanimously, with Grogan, Kohlhouse, Carr, and Worland passing 2-1. Kellie Streeter cast the opposing vote on the votes that passed 2-1. During the session to name the committee, Streeter asked questions about the committee’s intent, and the lack of representation of some County departments on the committee.
