Harold Bruce Clinkenbeard, 82, Freelandville

Harold Bruce Clinkenbeard of Freelandville, Indiana, affectionately known as Bruce to friends and family, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Edwardsport, Indiana, at the age of 82. He was born on December 6, 1942, to the late John and Dorothy (Howard) Clinkenbeard in Bicknell, Indiana, and grew up in a large and loving household that would shape the incredible man he would become.

Bruce lived a life marked by devotion to his family and community. He married the love of his life, Sally (Wadsworth) Clinkenbeard, on January 12, 1964, at Bethel Church in Freelandville, Indiana, where he remained an active member throughout his life. Their profound connection was evident to all who knew them, and their journey together was filled with countless moments of joy and companionship.

He was a cherished father and is survived by his daughter, Allison (Rodney) McKinnon of Vincennes, Indiana, and his daughter-in-law, Ruth Clinkenbeard, also of Vincennes. His legacy extends through his brothers, Jim (Linda), Bill (Karen), and Paul Clinkenbeard; his sister, Mary Yagle; his sister-in-law, Lill Clinkenbeard; six grandchildren, Troy Clinkenbeard of Denver, Colorado, Trinity Clinkenbeard of Princeton, Indiana, Dylan (Ellie) Musgrove of Newburgh, Indiana, Levi (Jana) McKinnon of Newburgh, Indiana, Brody Musgrove of Vincennes, Indiana, and Jewel (Joey) Anderson of Vincennes, Indiana, and his three great-grandchildren, Harper and Liam McKinnon and Maverick Anderson who will carry forward his spirit of kindness and generosity.

Bruce was preceded in death not only by his beloved parents but also by his son, Tennyson Clinkenbeard, his brother, John H. Clinkenbeard, and his sisters, Carol Bobe and Barbara Kirk, along with his sister-in-law, Jill Clinkenbeard and brothers-in-law, John Bobe, Danny Yagle, and Ed Kirk. Each loss was a deep sorrow for Bruce, and he missed them deeply.

After graduating from high school, Bruce built a career that culminated in a fulfilling retirement from the Services Department at Uebelhor in Vincennes, Indiana. He was not only respected for his work ethic but also for the genuine friendships he cultivated with colleagues through the years.

Bruce was an embodiment of warmth, friendliness, and love. His commitment to his family was paramount and manifested in the unwavering support and joy he brought to their lives. As a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, his presence was a constant source of stability and affection. He will be remembered with joy and love, living on in the hearts of his family and friends.

There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Bethel Church from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Bryan Taylor.
