Born on March 23, 1958, in Texas, Amy’s life journey was marked by her friendly nature and her unwavering dedication to her family and community.
As a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Amy’s nurturing spirit touched many lives. She is survived by her devoted son, Billy Slater, who reflects her strength and kindness. Her legacy continues to blossom through her seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a part of her gentle spirit. Amy’s sisters, Lisa Moore, Theresa Deisher, and Brenda Crouch, along with her brother, Danny Ray Moore and his wife Sharon, and sister-in-law, Lesa Moore, will hold dear the memories of her loving guidance and enduring friendship.
Amy was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Jay Twitty, with whom she shared a life filled with joy and companionship. Her daughter, Leigh Ann Slater, and her brother, Timmy Moore, also preceded her, and she is now reunited with them in eternal peace. Amy’s parents, Nellie Ann “Sandefur” Potter and Raymond Leo Moore, undoubtedly welcomed their daughter with open arms, completing the circle of familial love that grounded her throughout her life.
An alumna of her local high school, Amy’s educational journey laid the foundation for her professional achievements. She was a respected manager at Goodwill, where her leadership and compassion made a lasting impact. Earlier in her career, she honed her managerial skills while overseeing a restaurant in Florida, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to excellence in every role she undertook.
Amy’s zest for life was evident in her personal interests. She possessed a creative soul, finding joy in painting and ceramics, activities that allowed her to express her artistic vision and share it with those around her. A sharp and competitive spirit, she also relished the times spent shooting pool, where her friendly demeanor and sportsmanship were always present.Words like loving, kind, and friendly only begin to capture the essence of Amy Twitty. Her life was a testament to these virtues, as she treated everyone she met with respect and an open heart. Amy’s presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends.
