The annual Coats for Kids drive starts tomorrow morning, and runs through six tomorrow evening, at the Brevoort House at Sixth and Busseron. The Brevoort House is also the headquarters of TOC Direct Media.
The drive is being run along with the Knox County Salvation Army. Knox County Salvation Army commander Joey Gates says the donations can start bright and early tomorrow morning. Gates himself will be on the front porch to personally receive coats around 8 tomorrow morning. He reminds everyone donating new and gently-used kids’ coats is the biggest need—and that especially showed last year., when they ran out of children’s coats three separate times.
The overall goal for this year’s Coats for Kids event is 200 coats. Last year, community members dropped off just over 120 coats for those in need.
