Knox County Council Finalizes Budget for 2026, Looks Cautiously at 2027

The Knox County Council has approved the final touches on the 2026 budget they gave initial approval on in October. The budget must get final approval by the State of Indiana, before it is put in place on January first, 2026.
Knox County Council president Mike Morris believes even with the finishing budget tweaks, it is a budget that everyone can be proud of. However, Morris still has a cautious eye toward what the County’s budget could look like in 2027.

Government officials are hoping for some Legislative relief in the next General Assembly session that starts in January. The issue could possibly come before the State Legislature sometime next year.
