The Vincennes Fire Department is working early this week on instruction at its new fire training facility on Perdue Road. The space was developed as a joint effort between them, the Vincennes Township Fire Department, and the state of Indiana. State officials gave 750-thousand dollars for a fire tower; the two departments matched and exceeded that amount with other improvements.
Vincennes Fire Chief Brett Bobe says the regional center will help firemen across the entire area. Bobe also sees it as valuable training for his young unit commanders.
The actual training started on Monday, and will continue through tomorrow at the new facility.
