The Vincennes Lincoln baseball team won a 19-15 slugfest yesterday over Evansville Central at Hill Field in Vincennes. The Alices came up with 12 runs in the first three innings, and secured the game with five runs in the 6th.
Cooper Collins led the way with four hits, including two home runs and a triple. He also drove in five runs on the day. Brady Anderson also contributed a homer in the winning effort.
An eight run fifth inning led the Rivet Patriots to a 13-7 victory over the Shakamak Lakers yesterday in Jasonville. Hunter Bilskie led the way in the 8-run fifth with a three run homer. Miles Holka and Layne Willis each had two hits in the game. Hunter Bilskie pitched five and a third innings to get the victory.
The win moves the Patriots to 9-3 on the year. Weather allowing, they are back home tonight to take on Wood Memorial, with a six p-m first pitch.
The Vincennes Lincoln girls tennis team had a tough day, losing 5-0 to Evansville Central.
South Knox put up ten runs in the first three innings to defeat Pike Central, 12-1, in five innings. Cole Worland led the way with four runs batted in and three runs scored.
In softball:
Vincennes Lincoln has now won 12 in a row, with an 8-3 victory at North Daviess. Grace Archer hit her seventh home run of the year. Sophia Cleghorn also added a triple as part of a 3 for 4 game. Jaclyn Miller got the win for the Lady Alices; she is now 9-1 on the year.
North Knox put up eight runs in the 4th inning to defeat Bloomfield, 9-6. The Lady Warriors also had 12 hits in the victory. The Lady Warriors go to 6-5 on the year with the win.
South Knox defeated Shoals last night 10-1. Kenna Rehwald got the win with a complete game three-hitter. Braelyn Gladish led the way for the Lady Spartans with a triple and an inside the park home run. Maddie Short had a triple as part of a three hit night, and Maycle Linnewebber also had two doubles in the victory.
The Lady Spartans move to 8-4 with the win.
The Vincennes Lincoln tennis team had a hard evening, as they lost 5-0 to Evansville Central.
