Republican races for Sheriff, Commissioner, and Council head up the primary voting today in Knox County. Voters will head to 14 vote centers scattered across Knox County from now through six tonight.
Four men are in the running for the Republican Sheriff’s nomination. John Fuller, Mike Fisher, Dan Short, and Paul Jones will all go for the nomination. The winner faces Democrat Brian Hagen in the November general election; Hagen is running unopposed today.
Two North Knox area men will vie to replace Kellie Streeter as Knox County Commissioner. Streeter is giving up the seat to run for Indiana State Representatie in the 45th District. The race is between Matt Hoffman and Rich Chattin.
Chattin is giving up his Fourth District Knox County Council seat to run for Commissioner. Rob French and Brandy Toney are running for that position today.
Other Council races include incumbent Mary Crismore verses Terry Vieck in District One, and incumbent Jay Yochum against Kelly Hopwood and Brett Dawson in Council District Three. The District Two incumbent—Mike Morris—is running unopposed.
Other contested races include incumbent Woody Woodward facing Ovi Ciceu and Zac Harper for Assessor, and Vickie Bottoms against Blake Wolson for County Recorder. Democrat Lisa Ritterskamp is running unopposed in her party’s Recorder’s race.
