South Knox Schools Superintendent Jeff Cochren now has the authority to make what is being considered a necessary reduction in force. The RIF process will begin soon; Cochren tells us they will need to reduce two faculty and nine staff members for the next school year.
The affected faculty and staff will be notified in the near future. Cochren further tells us the riffing decision is due to a drop in South Knox student numbers. The Corporation has gone down around 100 students over the last three years.
Even with the planned reduction, South Knox Schools will not be dropping any program offerings, even though the instruction methods may be adjusted.
