The Knox County Sheriff’s Department is now tallying up the final numbers for stop arm violations across the county for the latest school year. Knox County Sheriff’s Major James Wehrman says the violation numbers are down some this year. Wehrman also reminds everyone for the next school year, the stop-arm camera enforcement in the North Knox district will remain stringent.
According to Sheriff’s officials, most of the violations are not deliberate. One of the largest violations are on the four-lane stretches of State Road 67. Since that is a non-divided four-lane highway, both directions of traffic must stop for an extended school bus stop arm
