Spay and Neuter Season in Full Swing

By Tom Zimmerman Jun 5, 2026 | 5:00 AM

The Vincennes Animal Shelter has used up a grant to help spay and neuter kittens across the city. The program is designed to trap, neuter, and release feral cats in the community.

Angie Stanley is with the Vincennes Animal Shelter. She knows the need is always evident—but especially in the springtime.  As an example, Stanley says they spayed and neutered hundreds of cats—but could do a lot more.

Owners of both dogs and cats are encouraged to spay or neuter their pets, to keep the pet population in check.
