Area Groups Get Funding as Part of Victims of Crime Act

The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute has awarded around 45 and a half million dollars in grants statewide as part of the “Victims of Crime Act.”  The funding was announced yesterday from Indianapolis.
Knox County received three grants, with the largest being nearly 410-thousand dollars for Knox County’s  office of Children and Family Services.  Knox County CASA also got nearly 246-thousand dollars, with the Knox County Prosecutor’s office gaining 115-thousand dollars.  Other awards included 95-thousnd dollars to the Gibson County Prosecutor’s office, and over 76-thousand to the Sullivan County Prosecutor’s office.
