The Indiana Legislature approved a couple of bills earlier this year to help curb the drastic increase in electric bills. One of those changes gives more power to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commssion—or IURC.
Jasper State Senator Darryl Schmitt also points to a new statute keeping power providers to various consumer-related goals.
State lawmakers hope these, and other regulations, will help level out higher electric charges for Indiana electric consumers.
