Massive flooding in northern and eastern Indiana will lead to near moderage flooding in rivers in this area—especially across the next week.
The Wabash at Vincennes is currently forecast to top our five feet over its 16-foot flood stage. At Mount Carmel, the Wabash is set to rise to four and a half feet over its flood stage. The White River at Edwardsport and at Petersburg could see minor to moderate flooding, between five and a half and six feet over flood stage. Both rivers are forecast to hit their crest levels a week from today.
Drivers and others in low-lying areas are urged to watch for water covering roads near the rivers—especially as rivers start rising in the next week.
