The Knox County Highway Department has announced the adoption of the TextMyGov text messaging service.
The county says the service will enable residents to receive important notifications and find specific information by texting the County.
The new text messaging system will be launched on Monday, August 24th.
At that time, residents may opt-in by texting the keyword “KNOX HIGHWAY” to the number 80946.
After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply “YES” to confirm opt-in. Residents may receive notifications for road closures, paving schedules, office closure, and other matters.
Also starting soon, residents will be able to receive on-demand information.
