In volleyball:
The South Knox Lady Spartans took a five-set win over Washington. The Lady Spartans dropped the first two games, but won the next two and took the deciding fifth set, 15-10.
Brooklyn Flanigam had a triple double for South Knox, with 21 digs, 17 poins, and 13 assists. Makayla Carie also recorded a triple double, with 22 assists, 15 digs, and 12 points. Addyson Marchino led the Lady Spartans in kills with 16.
In soccer:
The Rivet Lady Patriots defeated Terre Haute South 5=0 at Saint Vincent Field. Bridget Stine led with three goals, while Leela Gilmore and Charly Sievers added one each.
The North Knox girls’ soccer team lost 5-1 to West Vigo. They are 0-3 on the year.
In tennis:
Vincennes Lincoln shut out Evansville Reitz 5-0. Singles winners were Carter Johnson, Bronx Carter, and Luke Clark with doubles wins from Conner Hahn and Brady Allen, and Bennett Kirwer and Jaxson Newton.
South Knox’s boys also came up with a 5-0 victory over Linton. Spartan winners included Reid Hall, Layne Hays, and Lane Hartwick, and doubles teams of Cooper Neal and Maddox Sargent, and Ethan Cook and Owen Robinson.
In golf:
Vincennes Lincoln was third in a four team match. Barr-Reeve won with a 162, followed by Washington, LHS, and North Posey. Mallory Fisher was low scorer for the Lady Alices with a 46.
In Middle School action:
The Clark Middle School 8th grade football team defeated Jasper on the road 34-20 Collin Smith was 9 of 14 for 179 yards and four touchdowns. Three of them were to Chase Hawkins; he made six catches for 157 yards. Hawkins also had a 78 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The other score was a reception by Gauge Dunlap.
The Clark Middle School boys’ soccer team lost to South Knox 6-4. Kelan Stein had all four South Knox goals in the game.
The Rivet 7th and 8th grade girls’ volleyball teams split with Washington. The 7th grade won in two games 25-18 and 25=16, while the 8th grade lost in 3 games, 20-25, 25-20, and 12-15.
The Clark Middle School girls’ Soccer team defeated South Knox 10-1. Audrey Klingler led CMS with five goals, while Gabrella Moore added three. The other two Clark goals were by Braelynn Trueblood and Audrey Mitchell.
