A late-summer heat wave has caused the City of Vincennes to make a couple of adjustments. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says the biggest change is likely earlier working hours for City Street and Sanitation workers. Mayor Yochum also reminds everyone to keep up on the conditions—especially concerning elderly friends or family members.
Those interested are also reminded to watch for the naming of possible “cooling centers” in the days to come, if they are needed. One cooling center that is available in the Knox County Public Library at Seventh and Hart Streets. They will be available for needed cooling during their regular open hours.
