Around Knox County:
In Volleyball:
The South Knox Lady Spartans defeated Evansville Harrison in for sets. South Knox and Harrison split the first two sets, with South Knox winning the first set 25-14, and Harrison claiming set two, 25-18. The Lady Spartans then won the last two, 25-14 and 25-21.
Makayla Carie had 14 points, six kills, and ten assists. Braelyn Gladish added 13 service points, while Brooklyn Flanigam added ten kills. Maddie Short led in digs with 13.
The North Knox Lady Warriors were defeated by Eastern Greene. The Lady T-Birds won the match in four sets. North Knox won the first set 25-21, but dropped the next three, 25-21, 25-20, and 27-25.
Baylie McCoy led the way with seven kills, while Jersey Sturgeon scored 14 digs and Henley Coats had 12 digs.
In Tennis:
The Vincennes Lincoln Alices lost 3-2 to North Daviess. L-H-S winnes were Luke Clark in singles, and the doubles team of Jude Harmon and Connor Sexton.
In Cross Country:
The North Knox boys team competed at Sullivan. Top Warrior finishers was a fifth place finish from Carleton Armes. The girls’ team defeated Sullivan, with Emma Telligman winning the meet. Briston Fleenor was second with Eva Claycomb third.
In Midfdle School sports:
The North Knox 7th and 8th grade football teams competed in separate halves against Pike Central.
The 8th grade defeated the Charges 40-0 in their half, with two touchdowns from Gavyn Primus and and single scores from Eli Chambers and Danny Pryor. In their half, the 7th grade were outscored 10-0 to Pike Central. The second half was played with a running clock, due to the large lead built up in the first half.
