The area’s August jobless rates have been released by the state’s Department of Workforce Development/
Knox County’s 3.5% unemployment rate for August was three tenths of a percent lower than August of 2025. Also, Daviess County’s unemployment rate in August was 3%, two-tenths of a percent lower than the same time last year.
Martin County’s jobless rate in August stood at 2.9%, two-tenths of a percent lower than August of 2025.
Sullivan County unemployment rate of 3.2% in August was four tenths of a percent lower than the same time a year ago.
Gibson County’s jobless rate was 3.1%, a tenth of a percent lower than the year before.
Both Pike and Greene County’s August unemployment rates were at 3.5%, both three tenths of a percent lower than the same time last year.
All area counties’ rates were lower than the statewide average. Indiana’s jobless rate in August was 3.6%.
