The Knox County Council has submitted its budget for 2027 for state review. The Department of Local Government Finance will work with Council members to set the final numbers for next year.
The Knox County Commissioners worked with Council, especially on their part of the overall fiscal budget. Council president T-J Brink says part of the effort this year was to clarify some areas in their budget that didn’t make sense. One of Brink’s continuing efforts is to reduce a large expense for each employee in the County’s family insurance plan.
Whenever the D-L-G-F approves the final budget and property tax levy, the new budget will be set to start in January of next year.
