By Tom Zimmerman Oct 1, 2026 | 9:31 AM

A December 15th trial date has been set in the murder case of 37 year-old Shane Carie.  Carie is accused of murder and arson in the September 21st death of Aileese Tucker in an Eleventh Street home owned by Troy Pickel.  Carie was arrested on the charge three days later.

Originally, Knox Superior Court One Judge Gara Lee set a January 12th trial date.  However, it was moved up to December 15th at the request of Carie’s attorney Brian Smith.  Smith was also appointed to be Carie’s case attorney at Judge Lee’s decree.

Carie is being held without bond in the Knox County Jail.  Smith asked for bond to be posted, but that request was refused, due to state law and local rules  If convicted, Carie could face up to 77 years in prison on both counts combined.
