The Indiana Department of Transportation has set Monday, November 16th as its day to close the Lincoln Memorial Bridge for continued repairs. At that time the bridge is scheduled to close to through traffic from mid-November through March of next year.
That closure will also allow work to rebuild the Memorial Bridge façade. The work is under the control of the George Rogers Clark National Park. G-R-C chief ranger Joe Herron knows that two crews have been working to get the façade stones ready, and then to put them back in place.
G-R-C officials have been working with INDOT to coordinate their calendars toward working on the Memorial Bridge projects together.
