Indiana Governor Mike Braun has issued an executive order to divide the state into twelve separate economic regions as part of future regional development. The map areas are being overseen by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
In this area, Knox County, along with Gibson and Pike Counties, are part of Region 11. That includes the previous Indiana First Region, along with the previous Southwest Indiana region. Daviess, Greene, and Martin Counties are in Region 8, which is a continuation of the Indiana Uplands Region. Finally, Sullivan County is in Region 7, which continues the current Wabash River Region.
The regional set up has been the basis of various statewide initiatives—including both the original READI program, as well as READI 2.0.
