Teens to Get Assistance Through Library Grant Program

By Tom Zimmerman Oct 22, 2026 | 5:00 AM

The Knox County Library Board will receive a 25=thousand dollar grant over the next four years for teen assistance.  Grant information was presented by Library grant writer Jamie Dugan.  The grant will be used as part of drug and alcohol prevention programs for teens in the Library service area.

The Library also received a set of historic records from Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home.  The records were recovered from the former Dexter Gardner and Sons location at Fifth and Main in Vincennes.  The building itself was part of Indiana’s longest-running funeral home; it started in Vincennes in 1816.  The records themselves were moved to the McGrady-Brockman House by members of the Knox County Inmate Work Force.
