The Knox County Area Plan Commission failed to approve two separate rezoning requests in Sandborn at last night’s session.
The A-P-C unfavorably recommended a request for WCH Transport to zone on and a half acres of land I-1 light industrial property. They are requesting the rezoning for a semi-truck maintenance shop. The Commission is worried about industrial uses creeping into residential areas. Further, neighbors to the location worried about excessive noise and lighting at that location. However, the final decision on the rezoning will be up to the Sandborn Town Board.
The other action is for a rezoning delay in a planned mixed-family residential area on the edge of Sandborn. Larry and Rita Wagler requested the zoning for just over three quarters of a acre at 418 East Oak Street. The zoning change would take the land from R-1 to R-2 zoning.
Board members want a more detailed information on the septic or sewer capacity for the property. It will be re-considered at the Board’s Decenber second session.
