The latest hurdles are being cleared in the continuing work on Washington Avenue Phase Two. That will will cover Washington Avenue from Emison Avenue up to, and including, Saint Clair Street. Vincennes City Engineer John Sprague says all the land they needed to acquire for right-of-way issues are in the City’s hands. Sprague tells us the next work on that stretch will be utility preparation.
The actual closure of that part of Washington Avenue for work will begin sometime early next year.
