Election Day is Here in Indiana Counties

By Tom Zimmerman May 5, 2026 | 5:00 AM

Today is primary election Day in Indiana, and voters across the state are choosing their party’s nominees for various county, state, and Congressional offices.

The polls will stay open from now to six p-m for regular Election Day voting.  Knox County Clerk David Shelton says except for Wheatland, all the vote center for this year’s election remain the same.  Shelton explains the vote centers make it easier for Knox County registered voters to cast a ballot at any Knox County voting location.

A good number of contested races are on the ballot today. They include  county races for Sheriff, Knox County Commissioner, and Knox County Council, and both the 39th District State Senate and 45th District State Representative races.
