Knox County Sports Recap for Fridfay

In baseball:

 

The Vincennes Lincoln Alices were defeated yesterday in a nine-inning home game against the Barr-Reeve Vikings.  The Alices rallied from a 3-0 deficit to take the game into extra innings, but lost on a single run in the top of the 9th.

 

Brady Anderson took the defeat for LHS, despite recording seven strikeouts in five innings of work.  The Alices had 11 hits in the game, with Nash Ransom and Brody Phillips recording doubles.

 

Next up is an intra-county game with South Knox.  That game has been moved to tonight, with a five-30 first pitch.  You can hear that game on 92.1, WZDM.

 

It was a big Blue Chip Conference win on the road for Rivet, as they defeat Northeast Dubois 7-3.  A four-run top of the 7th broke a 3-3 tie and led to the win.

 

Henry Holka led the way with a home run, a double, and two runs batted in.  Levi Brown got the win in relief of Copoper Stricklin. The two combined for nine strikeouts in the game.

 

In softball:

 

Make it 21-2 now for the Vincennes Lincoln Lady Alices, as they defeat Mount Vernon 7-3.  Olivia Lange led with a 3 for 4 night, and Grace Archer rapped her 11th home run of the seson.  In the pitcher’s circule, Jaclyn Miller got the win, scattering six hits and one run over five innings.  She also helped herself at the plate, with a 2 for 2 night.

 

 

In tennis:

 

The South Knox Spartans stay undefeated, and take the Blue Chip Conference title outright, with a 5-0 win over Vincennes Rivet.

 

The Lady Spartans got wins from Alli Hayden, Elaina Watjen, and Reagan Harrington in singles, along with the doubles teams of Halle Carmean and Emily Dreiman, and Maggie Vieke and Emily Bloebaum.

 

In track>

 

The Vincennes Lincoln Alices were involved int eh SIAC track meet at Evansville Central. Aiden Fleetwood was the top finisher for LHS, with a third and a fourt place finish.

 

The Clark Middle School 8th grade boys track teamwas third In the Big Four Conference track meet.  Two 8th graders took conference titles, including Ayden Schlomer with a new school record in the 110 meter hurdles.  The other top inisher was a win in the shot put for Liam Pargin.  Overall, Jasper took the Big Four conference title.

 

The Clark 7th grade team placed fourth in their conference meet, as Jasper also took that championship.
