Carol Ann (Hislip) Bowers, 83, passed away on May 25, 2026. She was born April 19, 1943, to Willard and Elfrieda (Trabant) Hislip, in Vincennes, Indiana. She graduated in 1961 from Freelandville High School. Carol graduated from Vincennes University in 1963 with a secretarial degree.
Carol was employed by Prudential Insurance Company for 31 years and retired as an office manager in 1994. On June 10, 1972, she married Larry Lyle Bowers. Larry preceded her in death on November 11, 2019.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Beth (Ed) Schleter, of Fort Branch, Indiana, and two grandchildren, Evan Schleter of Evansville, Indiana, and Emma Schleter of Fort Branch, Indiana. She is also survived by her sister, Jane (Greg) Keller of Connecticut, her nephew, John Derek Reel of Vincennes, Indiana, and her niece, Christine Schenzer of Connecticut.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Bicknell Chapel. A service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Seth Alexander. Burial will conclude at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery.
