The Indiana Small and Rural Schools Association has selected Bloomfield High School teacher Bri Karazsia (ka-RAZ-sia) as the 2027 Indiana Farm Bureau Rural Teacher of the Year.
Karazsia earned the honor through consistent positive impact on students, dedicated mentorship of new teachers, and the strong respect she has cultivated among colleagues, administrators, families, and the wider school community.
The award recognizes educators demonstrating outstanding service, leadership, and commitment in Indiana’s rural schools.
Karazsia will represent Indiana in the National Rural Education Association’s Rural Teacher of the Year competition.
The national winner will be announced at the National Rural Education Association Conference in San Antonio, Texas, October 19th through the 21st.
