Invasive plant eradication work continues on Knoxc County rights-of-way and also in County park areas. The work is being done by the County’s Soil and Water Conservation District.
S-W-C-D representative Ben Burke told the Commissioners they have taken out around 500 infestation points on County rights-of-way. Of those plits, S-W-C-D officials have taken out around 900 individual invasive species—especially poison hemlock.
Burke called the work “successful,” but mentioned the need for continued vigilance in keeping invasives off County-owned land.
