AARP has awarded two 15-thousand dollar Community Challenge grants to the YMCA of Vincennes. One is for improving an existing transportation booking portal so community agencies can schedule rides for older adults more easily, reducing missed appointments and transportation confusion.
The second grant will fund a project to add sheltered covers over benches at key public transit stops, making waiting safer and more comfortable for older riders.
